HMNS Catalysts Event: Victoria

September 7, 2021 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Tuesday, September 07, 2021 – 6:30 PM

Running Time: 2 hours

Hop into the Cretaceous period with an engaging and informative discussion with our friend, paleontologist and geologist James Edward Washington III, as he talks about the world’s largest and most complete touring skeleton, Victoria: The T.rex. In addition, he will explain the history of how the T. rex became the most famous dinosaur of all time. He’ll cover the tyrannosaur’s timeline, from fragmented remains discovered and misidentified in the American West during the end of the nineteenth century to its official scientific description in 1905. Science pairs with pop culture to cement the reign of the tyrant lizard kin, with appearances ranging from King Kong to The Land Before Time to Jurassic Park.
